Here, in the so-called “Norte Chico” of Chile, some 430 kilometers north of the capital Santiago de Chile, life is peaceful and in harmony with nature.  This is where stressed-out Santiago residents and, in recent years, more and more North Americans and Europeans come to unwind and recover their good spirits.

What can you do here?

Trekking and hiking

Water sports: Surfing, scuba diving, sandboarding, fishing, among others.

Ecotourism: Bird photographic safari on the coast and wetlands either on your own or guided tours.

Guided excursions: to the mining town of Andacollo, with its Mining Museum, Gold Museum, Andacollita Museum, or to explore a small artisanal mine, together with the pirquineros themselves!

Astrophotography and astronomy: Chile is host to 70% of the exploration telescopes installed in the world, thanks to its clear night skies. Guests can safely set up their telescopes and cameras on our premises and marvel at the night sky in total tranquility.

Relaxation, yoga, talks, reading, mindfulness: the idea of not including television in the facilities was implemented following the motto “Peace and contact with nature”. A calm mind allows us to appreciate the surroundings  in greater detail. In our case, we watch the birds doing their various tasks and our two cats watching the birds, and how their behavior varies… In the enclosure there are several decks and pleasant spaces that serve to encourage the practice of yoga, mindfulness, and also invite to be used for resting and reading.

Learn from nature and its cycles: The decision to eliminate some component of the vegetation is made when it has been confirmed that in no way they will regrow. In the Norte Chico there are many cases of plants that, due to extreme weather conditions, “hibernate” to keep their water needs to a minimum, and, as soon as two drops of rain fall, they green up in an impressive way. If this does not happen, the plant is removed and a new one is planted. At the back of the plot a reforestation project is being carried out with native species: Algarrobos, Arrayanes, Quillays, Peumos, all very well adapted to the type of soil of the plot and the climate of the region, in this way we contribute to the restoration of the original environment of the area.
